 i-Boating app now includes marine weather forecasts predicted by the ECMWF model.  ECMWF forecasts are available on all platforms where i-Boating is supported (iOS, Android, Windows & MacOS).

• Wind Speed & Direction
• Weave height and Direction
• Pressure
• Temperature

Relief Shading - for European waters.

 As we continue to expand support for Relief Shading in the i-Boating app, we have added a first version that adds support for relief shaded underwater terrain for parts of Europe - including major inland lakes, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, England etc.

 Do you know that the  i-Boating app  includes detailed under water relief imagery for Florida reefs?

The Relief layer clearly shows the under water structure for the reef. Here is what it looks like.

Relief Shading on Windows and MacOS

 Do you know that i-Boating app is natively supported on both Windows and MacOS devices? This includes all advanced layers and features like Relief Shading.

Here is how to turn on the Relief Shading layer in the Windows and MacOS app.

• Tap more button and select Settings
• Check the box that says "Relief Shading"
• Tap Save

i-Boating search engine - auto suggest, explore marinas and ramps.

 We are pleased to announce another major update to the i-Boating app we have been working on for months. It's the availability of a new AI powered search engine, designed specifically for recreational boating and fishing. 

• Access search engine by tapping on the search icon on top left
• The new engine automatically suggests as you type in
• If you are looking for lakes around you, please enable "Search Nearby". Make sure that the map is re-centered to your current location for most effective results.
• Explore nearby ramps and marinas

The new binaries that support the new i-Boating search engine have already started rolling out. Its supported on all platform where i-Boating is supported.

Relief Shading, like Google street view but for under water terrain is now available in the i-Boating app.

 i-Boating relief shading is like Google Street View, but for underwater terrain (Sea View). It's a visual representation of what the underwater terrain looks like. If you were to drain the oceans/lakes of all the water, that is the kind of view relief shading attempts to show.

Lake Temperature maps - Florida lakes warming up.

 The i-Boating app includes detailed lake temperature maps, accurate to 1 degree Fahrenheit( 0.5 degree celsius approx). Using it you can identify where all the warm zones are, where the temperatures are changing. More importantly you can cross reference this information with structure data to narrow  down the most productive areas.

Here you can clearly see that Florida lakes are warming up.

Marine weather forecasts & Lake Temperatures- now completely free !!!

 We are pleased to announce that marine weather forecasts and lake temperature maps in the i-Boating app are now completely free. This includes the following layers:

• Wind
• Waves
• Precipitation
• Pressure
• Temperature
• Gust
• Lake Temperatures

To access these, simply tap on the weather icon in the action bar.

Fishing AI - Fish Smarter not Harder !!

 i-Boating app continues to improve Fishing AI - taking in as many signals as possible to figure out where to find fish.

With Fishing AI enabled, the app shows your fishing break lines and fishing hot spots on the lake. The Fishing AI algorithm and predictions are continually updated as we get more data about the lake, catches on the lake, new structure information.

Its available on all platforms - iOS, Android, Windows and MacOS. 

Fishing AI improvements - find fishing hot spots

 As our lake and catches data continues to improve, our  Fishing AI keeps better and accurate in identifying fishing hot spots. 

Fishing AI uses lake bottom topography, sonar imagery and several other signals to identify fishing spots. Here is a short youtube video describing how it works.

Lake Temperature (Thermocline) Maps

 We are pleased to announce that the latest release of the i-Boating application includes support for lake temperature (Thermocline) maps for inland lakes in US & Canada. The maps show variation in temperature accurate to 1 degree Fahrenheit (0.5 degree celsius).

With the layer on, its easy to eyeball warm zones in a lake and temperature breaklines  that tend to be very productive for fishing. It is available on all platforms (iOS, Android, Windows & MacOS).
