Offline UK Tides & Currents (Tidal Streams) now available.

 We are pleased to announce that the latest version of i-Boating now supports tide and currents for waters covering the coast of UK & Ireland. Around 2.5K new tide and current stations were added in this release.  Once the tide and current database is downloaded, all predictions and graphs can be generated by the application even when there is no internet connectivity.

The tidal diamond layer can be enabled on the application using the steps below:

  • Tap more/menu button on map screen
  • Select Enable Tide & Currents
Offline tide and streams for UK is available on all devices - iOS, Android, Windows & MacOS.

i-Boating magnetic bearing support.

 The latest version of i-Boating now supports magnetic bearing.  Its available on all platforms (including iOS, Android, Windows and MacOS).

Once enabled under settings, distance bearing tool shows magnetic bearing by default. All route legs show magnetic bearing to next way point. Auto Follow shows current magnetic heading on bottom left corner of screen.

Here is how to enable it.

  • Tap more/menu button (upper right android) and select Settings
  • Check the switch that says "Show Magnetic Bearing"
  • Tap Save
Distance bearing tool would now show magnetic bearing.

Temporal wind prediction overlays

 The latest version of i-Boating for Android and iOS includes support for temporal wind prediction overlays.


  • Wind speed and true direction forecast for 3 days at 3 hour intervals.
  • Use the play back bar on top to play/pause the wind animation or go to a specific time.
  • Select a specific time for wind prediction from a list
  • Tap anywhere on the map to view exact wind prediction speed and direction
  • Use barb notation to estimate wind speed at a point.

Lake Muskoka , Rousseau & Joseph ENC chart

 The i-Boating lake depth maps now includes ENC charts covering lake Muskoka, Lake Rousseau and Lake Joseph.

The update is available on all platforms (iOS, Android, Windows and MacOS). The latest update includes HD bathymetry, navigation buoys, hazards , recommended tracks and other ENC layers.

Lake Simcoe ENC chart

The i-Boating marine navigation and lake depth maps app now includes detailed vector / ENC (Electronic navigation chart) for Lake Simcoe. The update includes new detailed HD bathymetry for lake Simcoe, all navigation buoys, hazards, recommended tracks , marinas, boat ramps and other ENC layers.
The update is available on all platforms (iOS, Android, Windows and MacOS) and also on our website viewer.

Magnify Text & icons in i-Boating

 i-Boating now supports an option to magnify text and icons.

To enable this:

  • Press more/menu button (top right Android, lower right iPhone)
  • Select Settings
  • Check the box/switch (Magnify Text & Icons)
  • Tap Save
